The cows have a sacred place representing the gods in Hindu philosophy . But most of the cows are cruelly slaughtered in India. The milk and milk products consumed by us today were given by most of these unknown mothers who are constantly on their last journey to slaughter which has no comparison to the hell.

Welcome to Jayam Goshala

We do rituals for 3 earlier generations, perform go poojan Nandikeswara pooja, Mattupongal etc but totally ignore the fate of these unknown mothers, from whome we draw milk everyday. Are we Fair?

Our Mission

The idea of establishing a "Goshala" took root in my mind a few months after my father Bal Kishan Sharma expired on 29 December 2008. I started reading our religious books like Bhagvad Geeta, Ramayana, Garuda Puran etc and my belief in the Hindu religion and its beliefs got more strengenthened. As per our scriptures and Garuda Puran I wanted to do a Go Daan (cow donation) for my fathers soul to reach its destination in comfort.

Why should we protect and serve cows?

Mythologically, Brahma (the creator) created the brahmins (priests) and the cow at the same time, the Brahmins were to recite the religious scriptures while the cow was to afford ghee (clarified butter) for offerings in religious sacrifices. Brahma also affirmed it to be the mother of gods, ought to be worshipped and anybody who killed a cow or allows another to kill it, was deemed to rot in hell, for as many years as there are hair upon his body.
The Garuda Puran Says

Towards the end, a cow should be given, he should give a cow to overcome death, another to absolve himself of debts, another for the gaining of liberation.

With special rites, o bird should the gift of a cow for Vaitarana be made, the cows verily carry the man beyond the three kinds of hells.

  •   The cows have a sacred place representing the gods in Hindu philosophy . But most of the cows are cruelly slaughtered in India. The milk and milk products consumed by us today were given by most of these unknown mothers who are constantly on their last journey to slaughter which has no comparison to the hell. Cows donated to temples and as godhan also mostly sent to slaughter. Cows are slaughtered in large scale in Kerala and west Bengal legally and illegally in Tamilnadu and other states. Even pregnant cows are sold to butchers for a hefty price for the fat content and delicious embryo preparations. On an average, everyday about 10 000 cows are killed in Kerala. By buying leather products, we are also indirectly encouraging slaughter. Every year , about 2 lakh cows are sent to Kerala from Tamilnadu, Andra Pradesh and Karnataka.

  •   In the Vedas it is said that nobody will save old bullocks but we save them also. No cow will ever be sent out of our goshala at any point of time. After death, the cows are buries with great reverence. We save the cows and bullocks of our state who served us through out all their lives. We are ready to save upto 2000 cows, but with additional support. Our aim is to sensitise the milk consuming public about the unabated cruelty perpetuated and to stop the misery inflicted on these hapless mothers who did no sin than giving milk.

Like any other mother, the cow also produces milk for its calf only. We not only rob the milk but also ignore the fate of the cows as also the calf.

Running a goshala requires an agricultural base and infrastructure. We have large acres of land to support the goshala. We have 16 pucca sheds and 25 dedicated labour who stay there
